With its unique delta-wing configuration, the Douglas F4D Skyray was capable of supersonic speeds and dazzlingly fast high altitude climbs. During the early years of the Cold War, the Skyray served the U.S. Navy and Marines well as one of their mainstay fighters.

This painting was originally published on the Republic of the Marshall Islands 33¢ F4D Skyway stamp issued February 10, 2000.
