Basil Smith: Lilium lancifolium (Flower) Lilium lancifolium is a perennial wildflower which can be found anywhere in the mountains and fields of China, Japan and Korea. Its needled leaves grow in crisscrossed clusters and four to twenty yellowish-red flowers with dark purple spots bloom from July to August. Cloves from the Lilium are used in tonics and as a folk medicine for the treatment of coughs.
