Gene Jarvis: Argentina/Mirikina
Most monkeys are active during the day. As they climb, swing, and jump, they chatter, shriek and scold one another. Only the night monkey, or douroucouli, of South America moves around after dark. Sometimes called owl monkeys because of their large, round eyes, these South American primates sleep during the day. At night, they look for fruit, leaves and flowers to eat.
