Gene Jarvis: Aloe cameronii The Aloe cameronii is found in Zimbabwe and grows in the colder and higher altitudes, ranging from 1,500 meters to 2,000 meters. The usually green leaves of this plant turn a beautiful copper-red during the winter flowering months. Between April to June, scarlet, pink, orange and yellow flowers bloom. Occasionally, bicolored red and yellow flowers also appear. This painting was originally published on the Fleetwood® First Day Cover for the Zimbabwe 15¢ Aloe cameronii stamp issued July 14, 1988.
