Ivan Akimovich Sushchenko: Uneven Parallel Bars The uneven parallel bars is a women's gymnastic event that has been part of the Olympic program since 1952. The event is performed on two wooden bars. One bar is about 90 inches above the ground and the lower bar is about 60 inches high. The graceful competitor swings back and forth from bar to bar and executes difficult maneuvers whle trying to remain in constant motion.
