Ivan Akimovich Sushchenko: Isaac Newton
Sir Isaac Newton, an English mathematician and physicist, is considered by many to be the greatest scientist that ever lived. In 1687, he summarized his discoveries in terrestrial and celestial mechanics in his Philosophiae naturalis principia mathematica, which means "mathematical principals of natural philosophy." One of the greatest milestones in science history, it showed how Newton's principle of Universal Gravitation provided explanations for the motions of planets, comets and other bodies in the heavens, and for falling objects on the earth.
