This pretty little butterfly, displaying dark-fringed wings of orange, is an adult for only a few days. Found in the Balkan area of Europe, it is called the Grecian Copper.

This painting was originally published on the Republic of the Marshall Islands Butterflies of the World 80¢ Grecian Copper Butterfly stamp issued February 22, 2001.
