The Cowberry belongs to the same family as the Blueberry, but instead of being bright blue likes its relative, it is fiery red. Cowberries seldom grow in the open country, but rather in the quiet shaded nooks of moist woods. The prolific fruit is sweet and fine-flavored, commonly bright red with a powdery bloom, and is borne at the end of the branch in clusters.
