 | Vladimir Dmitrievich Kolganov Russian 1923 -
Vladimir Dmitrievich Kolganov was born in Moscow in 1923, and studied sculpture at the Moscow City House of Young Pioneers during his school years. In 1956 he graduated from the High
Industrial Design School. Specializing in the field of scientific illustration, Kolganov studied under V.A. Vatagin, a well-known animal painter. In 1961, Kolganov joined the Studio of
Applied Graphics at the Moscow branch of the RSFSR Art Fund, and in 1968 began designing postage stamps -- his Sikhote-Alynski Forest Reserve series was acclaimed as one of the best
postage stamp designs of the year in 1970. Kolganov's published works include The Fundamentals of Paleontology Encyclopedia for Children, and since 1975 he has been a member of
