Yvonne Skargon
British 1931 -

Renowned wood engraver and book illustrator, Yvonne Skargon was born in Essex, England, in 1931. She studied wood engraving with Blair Hughes-Stanton and John O'Connor at Colchester Art School, and developed a keen interest in nature and botanical subjects.

Skargon's watercolors, drawings and engravings have been commissioned by many leading English publishers, and she has exhibited her works with the Society of Wood Engravers -- of which she is a member -- as well as with numerous galleries. Her skill in flower painting is displayed in a colorful series of First Day Cover cachets depicting numerous species of roses.
