Harry Schaare
American 1922 -

Harry Schaare is a veteran artist and illustrator whose works have become an important part of the American scene. In the 1950's, his paintings for the Saturday Evening Post were enjoyed by millions of Americans. His art is a rare and exciting gift to people of all ages, and has been exhibited in the Smithsonian Institution, the United States Air Force Museum in Dayton, Ohio (the Wright Brothers' hometown), and other prominent galleries. The delicate play of light and shadow ... the depth and power of expression revealed ... and the subtlety of detail that is inescapably clear ... are but a few of the talents that Harry Schaare has brought to the six original works of art created exclusively for Fleetwood's 75th Anniversary of Powered Flight collection. A pilot himself in the Air Corps during World War II, Schaare later traveled throughout the world as an artist for the United States Air Force. He brings all his years of aviation experience to bear on these paintings; original works of art that convincingly re-create the remarkable story of the Wright Brothers' first flight. These works instantly demonstrate why Harry Schaare is one of America's foremost artists, and why the 75th Anniversary of Powered Flight will be enjoyed for years to come.
