| Shannon Stirnweis American 1931 - Shannon Stirnweis graduated
with distinction from the Art Center College of Design, after which he went to Europe for two years as an illustrator with the Army. He then took a job with an advertising agency before pursuing
a freelance career. Stirnweis served as president of the Society of Illustrators in New York City, and was a founding trustee of the Graphic Artist Guild. This prolific artist has exhibited
his works in collections in the Department of the Interior, U.S. Air Force Historical Museum, the U.S. Army Historical Museum and the Air Force Academy. Stirnweis has created illustrations
for such noted magazines as Time, Reader's Digest, Mechanics Illustrated, Money, Outdoor Life, Boy's Life, American Airlines, Popular Mechanics and American Legion. His advertising
clients include Avon, RCA, Winthrop Laboratories, General Foods and the National Football League. |
