Michael Warren
British 1938 -

Michael Warren was born in 1938 and lives in Nottinghamshire, England. He studied at the College of Art in Wolverhampton, where he specialized in illustration. A wildlife artist of wide renown, Warren has been acclaimed for his work for the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds in his native Great Britain. He has also created stunning designs for the National Audubon Society's Wildlife Conservation stamps.

Like John James Audubon, Warren believes the only way to depict birds in art is by portraying them in their natural habitat. Thus, all his paintings are derived from field observations. The result is stamps that capture the rich beauty of America's wildlife. Warren has traveled extensively in the British Isles and the United States, as well as Europe, the Marshall Islands and Africa. He is a member of Society for Wildlife Art for the Nation (SWAN), and his works are in a permanent collection at Wallsworth Hall, Gloucestershire.
