| Saul Mandel American 1926 - Saul Mandel has designed stamps for
both the United States and the United Nations. Many of his paintings are in the permanent collections of the Smithsonian Institution, the Air Force Museum, the Museum of American Illustration,
the New York Zoological Society, the Israel Museum and the Hebrew Arts Institute. Mandel's works have also been part of numerous private collections in the United States, Europe and Asia. He
has won several awards and has appeared in such prestigious publications as Who's Who in American Art, Art Direction Magazine and Contemporary Graphic Artist. He has also been recognized for his
work by winning many awards, including The Society of Illustrators, Humor '87 International Exhibitions award and The Communications Magazine Exhibitions award. Some of his most popular stamp
designs include the 1986 Love stamp issued by the U.S. Postal Service, and the 1992 Science and Technology For Development, a six-stamp set issued by the United Nations. |
